Part of our commitment to advance our self service strategy for developers results in covering all ends of the spectrum. Sometimes you just want to visit Dev Studio, check your documentation and bounce out. Other times, you’re going to need additional resources or information to help you along the way. We’re totally cool with that. After all, Dev Studio wouldn’t be the ultimate open developer platform if it didn’t encompass all your needs. With that in mind, we’re happy to announce two more developer resources: common Workflows and updated Sample Code.

Both developers completely new to Sabre technology and seasoned veterans of our portfolio of APIs can benefit from these resources. They result in a faster adoption of our tech, optimal use of both SOAP and REST APIs, and quicker time to market (just to name a few benefits).

Workflows

Workflows are now available within our documentation section. These are representative of common transactions used by developers. They’re a brief list of sequential steps designed to combine Sabre APIs for common scenarios. Essentially, they demonstrate end to end workflows and how different APIs interface with one another.

We’re starting with 8 and then will continually add to the list. The first ones to make the cut are:

  • Book Air Segments
  • Low Fare Search and Book
  • Issue Air Ticket
  • Reserve Air Seat
  • Book Hotel Reservation
  • Auto Price Air Exchange
  • Post Booking Transaction
  • Car Reservation

In addition to these workflows, developers now get access to a new SOAP UI project that references many of these common workflows within a technology agnostic tool utilized for testing end to end workflows and allowing the user to view real life example requests and responses.

Workflows help save you time while coding. This means while you’re delivering on that groundbreaking travel application, you’ve got the most prevalent info at your fingertips. As a result, you’ll spend more time being creative and showcasing your desire to reinvent travel while spending less time with seemingly mundane yet necessary tasks.

These initial 8 workflows are only the beginning, so be sure to check Dev Studio for updates. If you’ve got a great suggestion, let us know in the comments below or fill out the contact form and let us know!

Sabre API Code Samples

There’s plenty of programming languages out there. Maybe you’re working on something new or your team just needs to see examples of what’s been done before. We’ve got you covered with Sabre API Code Samples. With precise and prevalent examples in our GitHub, Answers in our StackOverflow and beyond, we ensure that you’ve got the resources right at your fingertips.

Current examples include:

  • Java
  • .NET (C#)
  • Node.js
  • Ruby
  • Python
  • Android
  • Swift (iOS)
  • PHP

The wonderful thing about the sample code is we show real life SOAP and REST examples of our APIs at work. Much like our workflows, they’re here to guide you as you’re working on building the latest and greatest thing for your travel application.

Our code samples will also be updated over time. If there’s something specifically you might find of interest, definitely feel free to let us know via the same contact methods outlined above.

Stay Tuned for Continual Updates

Sabre Dev Studio is so much more than a place to just view documentation. It’s an overall experience. The ultimate one-stop-shop for all your development needs. We want to make sure that you’ve got all the tools you need to succeed at your fingertips. Happy coding!
